Cover-Up Tattoos in Milton, FL | Chelsea Hughes

An old tattoo does not have to be the end of the story. At Burnouts Garage Apparel & Tattoo in Milton, Florida, Chelsea Hughes offers consultations for custom cover-up projects. Her tattoo awards include cover-up work, alongside watercolor, full color, geometric and mandala, black and grey, and best hand tattoo.

Start with the tattoo you already have

A successful cover-up starts with an honest look at the existing piece. Send clear photos in good lighting, including one close-up and another showing its placement. Tell Chelsea what you want to change and what you would be happy wearing instead. The existing ink, size, placement, and the new artwork all affect the options worth exploring.

Build a design around what works

Chelsea works across illustrative, traditional and neo-traditional, floral, watercolor, full-color, and black-and-grey styles. A reference image helps explain your direction, but the final design needs to work with your existing tattoo. Be open to discussing a different composition, more space, or another approach if your first idea will not give the result you want. Not every tattoo can be covered effectively; a consultation is where suitability is assessed.

What to include in your consultation request

  • Clear photos of the current tattoo and its placement.
  • Its approximate dimensions and the space available for new artwork.
  • Your preferred subject, style, and reference images.
  • Your budget and scheduling availability.

Quotes and session planning depend on the individual project. Sending a request does not reserve an appointment or guarantee that a cover-up is possible.
